Welcome to Rescript Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapeutic approach that challenges and reshapes unhelpful beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors. Hypnotherapy takes you into a deep, relaxed trance state, so you can engage with your subconscious to discover how to best to overcome the obstacles in your path. Mindfulness training helps you better regulate your emotions, develop an attitude of non-judgmental acceptance, and become more present in the here and now. CBHypnotherapy combines these three modalities to help you break free from unhealthy mindsets and habits, so you can live a healthier, happier, more authentic and purposeful life. CBHynotherapy helps you access the wisest part of yourself, so you can find your own best path to mental health and wellbeing.
What we tell ourselves shapes how we think, feel, and behave. Dysfunctional self-talk holds us back from living as well and fully as we'd like to. Reframing unhelpful beliefs about the world, ourselves, and our struggles can improve our health, mood, work performance, and relationships. But it isn't blind optimism or false hope that we want, but what psychologist Martin Seligman calls "flexible optimism – optimism with its eyes open." CBT helps you develop this flexible optimism by overriding negative messages with more helpful ones.
Your imagination is one of your most powerful but underutilized resources for personal growth and problem solving. Non ordinary states of Consciousness (NOSCs) like hypnosis help you harness the power of your subconscious to discover for yourself how you can live your best life, and achieve your goals.

We all have a wise, knowing self who wants us to experience more joy, peace, and love in our lives. Many of us however, are disconnected from this part of ourselves. My goal is to create a safe space and guide you to journey within, so you can activate your innate wisdom and compassion, and reconnect with this higher self.

How I Work
Having worked as a journalist and fiction writer, I understand the power of stories, and how our personal narratives shape the way we move through our lives and react to our world. Using CBT, we'll reappraise these stories in a confidential, emotionally safe, and intellectually stimulating way to discover creative solutions for overcoming your personal growth challenges. Using hypnosis to induce a non ordinary state of consciousness (NOSC), I’ll help you tune into and engage with your inner world, memories, imagination, and subconscious to achieve your therapeutic goals.
Where I Work
I am based in Portland, Oregon. I do not take insurance, and am presently only seeing clients on Zoom. I believe that finding the right therapist requires a little serendipity, and it’s important that we are a good fit. If you’d like to know if I'm right for you, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation.
